Myspace is dead!!!

Post by Acities »

I'm pretty sure that myspace is on the verge of destruction, I guess when it comes to posting your tracks there so many other better sites like Bandcamp, Soundcloud, etc. Do any of you guys still rock myspace??

i've stopped, haven't got round to deleting it though. I find myspace really really looooooooooong, takes forever to load the player and is over loaded with shit.

i jus use soundcloud and a basic blog.

I found a lot of collaborateurs through Myspace. While it does have a few issues, especially with my fucked-up connection, it's a good way to get in contact with other artists.

word.
that's the cool part of myspace.
i begin to use bandcamp but, for example, you have no possibility to "follow" (like on soundcloud) or "make friends" (like on myspace).

The connection-building can happen elsewhere, but myspace had a nice social aspect to it that I haven't seen on many other sites. I love Soundcloud since it encourages commenting on each others' tracks and it's really geared towards basement / bedroom producers.

they were giving me a shitty bit rate on my tracks...so I quit using myspace. It's so full of adds, spammers and bots anyway...no point. Who really wants to add friends who are just gonna clog your comments box with automatic mixtapes?

myspace has two valid points of connection with your music and fans. first off people know about it and tehre guarunteed to add you and listen at least once. and its easy to upload i treat bandcamp like my website.

I love myspace, I've met lots of my ebitches on there, they write generic love messages on my wall, and give me links to their sexy web cam sessions. For some reason those links always mess up, and my computer keeps getting slower and slower. But one day, with all luck, me and my ladies will settle down and have a couple dozen children.

Rupert Murdoch/Fox killed myspace, which I knew would happen.I can't believe the handful of supposedly progressive, liberal people that started myspace sold out to one of the most, if not THE most, corrupted & conservative men/media conglomerates in existance. It was an incredible thing 4-5 years ago--Then when it was bought out, it became all about advertising, hollywood, and ridiculous apps & shit (mafia war anyone?). Now everybody and their grandma (litterally) is on facebook, which includes no music at all. Guess this is also a statement on how so much music has become easilly obtainable, easilly forgettable and disposable. We're so used to hearing new artists-some good,a lot horrible, that discovering new music just isn't a big deal to most people anymore.

depressing isnt it? But you know what made myspace popular, and less of a musical outlet? CHILDREN! They are the ones that made myspace appear to be a good target for exploitation. Then the NATURAL reason for myspace was forgotten.

I just hope that children dont turn soundcloud, or any other musical sites into social networks for brats.
