Midi In

Hello Everyone,

I recently bought a 404sx and had a few concerns about the Midi In slot. First off, Is there anyway to connect a drum machine and have it play a pattern automatically without having me pressing any buttons through the roland? Midi is definitely a new challenge for me and im not quite sure what it does other than trigger notes. I would like for the drum machine to be triggered at a certain point that way i can play my other instrument at the same time without having to press the button for the drum machine.
