Cool range of sounds from everyone here! How'd everyone go about making their snares so crisp & loud? Grabbing bits of the voices & compressing the hell out of them etc? I tried but just couldn't nail it...
Really dug it when Dman shifts his drum track & the sparse synth samples were really cool. Teewok's was damned tight & pro, great melancholy vibe!
Had to vote for An Owl's because it was more or less a proper 'song', also liked the use of noise & melody in this one the most too.
yeah lots of cool beats from everyone...
for me it was a tuff choice between kel and teewok, but t's beat was darker and this was a zombie movie sample so he had my vote.
everyone had real cool sounds tho, i like unfolding machines beat too.
as for the snare, for mine i eqd the bass drum a bit and then layered in some little bits from towards the end of the main sample there was like creeking sounds or i dont really know but it was short and high freq i layered those on and then used lofi or overdrive or something like that to get a little white noisey sound in there
e
cool beats everyone, 'twas a good battle and of course good samples too
what i preferred was the work by kel and teewok, i feel it the best. the first beat 'cause dark and warmer (and those snare rolls for real!) the second one because of its "high" melodical treatment
cheers!
...and good resurrection to everyone!
yeah i forgot to say kels drum rolls were insane! major props for that. for me if the melody used was a little darker then it would be the best hands down
I'm gonna go ahead and give Kel's snare rolls the benefit of the doubt lol my vote's for Kel.
An Owl was very close - the bass sounded real good. I thought Flops beat was pretty ill too. Another successful battle! Thanks for all the kind comments towards my beat
Teewok gets my vote even though you won last time. great mix, drums... you have good taste in how you arrange your chops. dman5000 very close 2nd IMO.
thanks for the kind words about my beat
