Post by wax inspektor »

Got a Zip Drive but the scsi port doesn't fit into the mpc... the mpc port is a bit smaller...

Yes,

That is the cable you need. I am not an expert, but you got an external Mac serial Zip instead of a regular PC one. I mean basically your options are buy the overpriced cable that might work, or just buy the zip drive that you know works with the mpc. Both should be about the same price in the end.

*disclaimer, the only zip drive I've used is with an ASRX.

hmmm.... this is becoming a real pain... i got the cabel (a journey itself) and figured out that the other end (25 pins) needs to be female... but those cables never excisted... i found an adapter (mac shit they say) and now i'm lost in questions again... did i really bought a mac zip? ...nevertheless i got to get a new one cause i tried to 'customize' it but soldering and smoking doesn't go hand in hand somehow...

i need one of those i think... the blue mauritius i call it...

Wax, how's 2xl?

Among all "not-sp" products I used to have, I loved this machine the most.

...oh well it's an awesome sequencer, just dusted off the 303 cause you can control that shit on one midi channel and 2 banks are enough to cover all 303 pads... Love to have a second 303 now, but they go around 200€'s over here... insane! ;)
I hope to get my zip-drive (which hopefully works) in 2 like days so I can finally save my junk... best built mpc I ever touched, a bit dissapointed that there only 2 mute targets instead of mute groups but I got this machine for a reaaaal good price from a collegue, so I thought of re-selling but Ima keep it so I can close the mpc chapter...
32MB/8outs/FX Board/SCSI+USB Zip Drive <350€ (resale value 650€)
I was aiming on the 2500 (SE) but I'm fine with the old shit...

Hope YOU are through with that gear switching also... ?! I mean you really had it all... Buy records, learn a multitracker, prolly get a synth and you're done imao! Skill isn't sth you find on ebay yet...
