Of course the hip hop purists in us is gonna say "wtf,this is some sellout,wack bullshit". But you could also look at this whole thing from the perspective that by now theres tens of thousands of very young kids from all backrounds/nationalities that knew nothing of rae or the wu that have probably done at least a little-if not extensive-research into wu tangs back catalogue,and most likely purchased/listened/downloaded a lot of their shit. They may not be beiber fans in another year- but they could still be lsitening to wu joints 20 years from now, and songs like these could be their introduction to non-mainstream hip hop. Maybe this is what cats like raekwon have in mind when they do this type of shit...maybe not. But in the long run, these types of collabs can help keep real hip hop alive and relevent. Also justin beiber is just a young,honestly talented kid that sets a pretty good example for his fans doing what he loves to do. He's not some disney-bred star-he simply made some youtube vids and got put on. Can't really be to mad at that.Not saying I ride around banging justin beiber-but raising three girls, I'd much rather have them listening to his music then 90% of what's on the radio/tv-including a lot of girl stars his age. I don't mean anyone in this thread but I think sometimes cats forget that Hip Hop in the 90's was commercially relevant...in it's raw, real form...that made it possible for great music to be made all over the place while everyone was making a bunch of money and was happy...unfortunately now that sound is not commercially relevant, definitely not to the same degree...so artists have to bite the bullet and do tracks like this or they gonna tank - that is if they want to get some kind of commercial success

exactly, I was actually thinking bout how I used to come home and watch rap city when I typed that up...nowadays you gotta search far and wide to find good Hip Hop, the music just doesn't spread like it used to...it stays in it's region, like this past week I was in FL on vacation and I randomly asked some people if they had heard of various underground Philly artists like Reef The Lost Cauze and they had not...they all listen to Ross and Wayne and think that is what hip hop is, it's pretty sad...but that's why you need cats like Rae to do tracks like this that can reach these boneheads and maybe convert some of them
