the future for midi?

...it seems that the b2m is monophonic, while the g2m not play well the low notes so if you want the 2 work with guit or bass you have to choose the respective converter or buy both...

anyway imagine to play vstis (synths, trumpets, sax, violins etc) with those...plus is very portable (not like the roland/korg midi guit and bass) and relatively cheap...

i have a sound converter of the '80 by midiman (now m-audio) wich allows to trasform the master out of a 4 tracks recorder in a midi out signal, so i think is basically the same concept...

check out some video examples on the net, i got no time now, sorry...

from what i've read it seems that you have to play very very precise your bass or guitar in order to not make start unwanted notes...

they both don't have usb connection, so you need a midi to usb cable...

i worte at sonuus youtube channel and they answer me that both converters are MONOPHONIC...this is -for me- a limitation because you cannot play chords with those...

yes, exactly...
unfortunately those midi converters are most of all conceived to make guit solos/lead synhts/bass etc...i'll post the youtube link where they explain me this (my name on youtube is yohppoy)

could you plug a mic into that and hum or whistle a melody, and convert to midi data? if so i want one.

don't know if it works with hum, maybe those things works only with guit/bass but whi knows, maybe i'll ask them in their youtube channel...anyway i know a free program for pc that do that if your'e interested: MuseBook MidiMic 1.1. the only problem is that it do everything with its inner shitty auwful sounds...
mabe some utilities as midi-ox could be useful too, but i don't know it well

the only way to do guitar polyphony is to get a midi guitar and have each of the 6 strings set to a different midi channel. From there, you need 6 tone generators so that the bend from each of the channels will register. It sounds good, but can be a burden to set up.

As far as the future of midi, look for something wifi...imagine sending midi data to ip addresses...now that would be cool

Theres a couple of iPhone apps that do this already. Although a standalone device would be sick too. Like a router with midi i/o.
