bpm stretch noise?

hey all.
i'm currently using my sp404 to put a track together. most of my samples are a few bars of classical music, strings and piano. there's plenty of tempo changes, and none of my samples are what you'd call a loop, so none of them have an accurate bpm reading. still, i was able to trigger them in time with the beat, but i had to tweak the tempo of all of them. the tempo is all over the place, and the time stretch is really noticeable. (especially in the strings) is there anything i can do to reduce the time stretch noise?
i realize doing the whole thing on software would help, but i dunno... with this particular source material i felt more comfortable triggering the samples with my fingers than editing.

playing with faint delays/reverbs can sometimes mask the choppiness of the stretching...

also assuming you use vinyl for source, you can pitch the record before you sample it (alhtough this makes problems for keeping things in key if different tracks are recorded at different pitch)

unfortunately its just one of those things that the SPs have trouble with

everyone dislikes the sp time strecth at first, i was always like , what the hell huh why would they make something so awful, but like cartesia says add some echo or reverb and you can make sounds that nothing else can do.

add more sonic layers!!!! it hides the chunk......and it usually always sounds better after the fact when you record out then when your listening to it on headphones comin straight from the sp for a few hours straight

lo's got it right though, a sound that is rather unique to the sp series, embrace it!!
