So, no sampler and the Gaia soft editor is payware, hmmm... Well, I guess they got it right with the audio interface and that Juno-Gi keyboard. It's Roland anyway, I don't know why I care to checks these things.

Quite a disappointment in my opinion this time around, but it's probably to soon for something major anyway.

I'm still hoping for a new MC or SP or possibly MV to show up within say a year or two. I love my MV8800 and won't get rid of it anytime soon, but it's somewhat begging for a modernization and better integration with external software stuff.

It's not literally missing anything for a full production, but it can be improved for sure.

(talkin about samplers/grooveboxes)while Roland is not in good health, then Korg too...
i've read that the new esx and emx are just retouched in terms of saving card: no more smartmedia but from now on sd cards...
...it makes me think at a "similar" operation roland made with the sp404sx...

The ESX/EMX still sell alot more than the SPs though - that's why they didn't get any significant upgrade - they are basically the only grooveboxes on the market besides the boutique brand expensive stuff. (elektron/jomox/spektralis)

The difference between korg & roland is korg has other products which are new and innovative (microsampler, kaossilator pro, kaoss pad 3)

Maybe Roland should put a decent sampler on the iPad! LOL

The Korg iElectribe is pretty damn sweet for an iPad app...
