the internal mic

Post by iG9 »

so listening to the getfucked up machine, i realized the internal mic isn't that great. what effects do you use to fill it out? EQ? what's tha skinny?

(please include mfx #s as i'm working w/out a faceplate)

=)

word, never messed with that shit much. I do remember trying to record someone talking and was disappointed at the low volume and high backround noise. the filter might work good.

What happened to your faceplate ? . I like how you named the sp "getfucked up machine". I call it baby boombap.

weirdly enough (with it being a VERY small diaphragm condenser) i sampled my acoustic guitar and the results were extremely bassy. so to improve the sound i had to pretty much cut the bass frquencies with the equalizer and then i added a touch of reverb to thicken it up a bit. when i recorded it though i put my sp (or baby boombap haha) right up to the soundhole. so maybe try putting it closer to the sound source?

I usually record some hi percussion which works quite well.

Here is something to try:
Take a pen and slide it down the sp's side panel while record with the mic.
Take out all lows and mids. A lil' reverb and you are done!

Looks good, you could start a company for custom sp's and call it Borat.
Yes I like, very nice.

thats sick ig9. I never cared much about customizing my samplers- but the SP............ I get the urge to do a bit of work sometimes.

that sounds sweet. you want to use paint pens, you can get then at craft stores. they have a ball in them you have to shake, like aerosol spray paint. =)

I wanna get a picture of a baby with devil horns and a evil smile playing on the 404. And above it I want it to say BABY BOOMBAP
