555 will not recognize commands

I just set the sampler up, but when I plug it in and power up, it just reiterates the initial light display (pads light up in wave, SP-555 is displayed in LED) over and over without recognizing that I'm commanding ANYTHING. I tried formatting the card as a trial, but it wouldnt respond. Help?

thats weird, it keeps doing the pad wave. i dont know. can you format the machine. go to the website and find out how to update the firmware or something, might fix it or return the machine to the factory settings, i think you start it up by holding some buttons or something.
hope it works out, that sucks.
