Roland Countdown
Hey guys, yet another Roland Countdown going on...
I think the SP-555SX is on the way. Other than that I guess maybe there's room for a black version of the Gaia SH-01 like they did with the Lucina keytar (or a software editor for it?) and a bunch of new accessories, like new versions of foot controllers and stuff like that.
What do you think they'll come up with this time?

Re: Roland Countdown
To be honest I wouldn't mind a SP-555sx, but I hope it's going to be a new MC instead.

Re: Roland Countdown
whatever it is its going to be something similair to whats already out, but without a bunch of useful old shit and with a bunch of useless new shit. they will probably give you like 10 more effects but drop resampling or some shit like that. dont expect something cool. maybe a 555sx with 2 extra features and 100 bucks more.

Re: Roland Countdown
the only model sampler i could see a face lift in is the 606... only because it's the most recent with features the404 or 555 dont have still (like panning, dual fxs 4 trk seq, etc). i mean uppin the voice count would already put me online for a buy... i'd love to see a 12 voice count... and highr card storage... and faster load times when loading larger samples...

Re: Roland Countdown
i agree with niq.... if and i do mean IF they come out with a sampler i think it would be a juiced 606 or a muted mv. they dropped the mv and the mc 808. id love for something new and badass to come out but im betting it wont.
Re: Roland Countdown
i just thought about them hopping on the hardware/software bandwagon and coming with a pad controller a la' maschine or something like an akai pad controller....
would be kinda hard for them because u can use other samplers like that and they really dont have a dominate software program that is even in the top 20 of soft samplers... like i mentioned b4 the 606 has got to be the choice... if i remember right one of the reasons why they had a short voice count was because the card streamed samples right off it and the processing for that is what limited it...
as tim just mentioned, they have a narrow window for new product... hd recorders got cut some... the synths got a face lift and a few other things got handled...
606sx or the triple seis ftw

I haven't been this excited since I drank a cup of water
Re: Roland Countdown
that juno gets updates every 9 to 12 months! WTF... they've done so much to it that they should just release a 4 voice mini juno analog joint since they arent satisfied... sorry but it pisses me off about that keyboard that hasnt really been celebrated since it went digital... f that board! (i'd buy a used one tho, lol
