Sending one of the pads into the headphones

Post by Imperets »

Is it possible to send one pad to the headphones ONLY?

What I'm trying to do is I'm trying to sync the samples with a live drummer. So I'd programme a click track into one of the pads and have ALL the other samples for the song in another pad. Then he'd count me off and I'd press both pads at the same time. So how do I send Pad One to the drummer's headphones alone and Pad Two to the PA?

I'm trying to run the samples on top of a live rock band. Is there a better way to accomplish this?

Not possible.

Easiest workaround I can think of is using stereo samples and sending only one of the outputs to the PA. Not ideal and cuts polyphony down to 6 samples, but that way you get to make like a "click track loop" that has the tempo on one side and silence on the other.

Better solutions would probably involve some kind of MIDI setup, with like a metronome hooked up to the SP-555 sending the the click track to the drummer or something like that.

I agree with him that it is not possible to do it. I think better continue doing your way because it is the only way for you to synchronize your track for the drummer. You can also let the drummer hear the track and let him make his blending.
