F that, this shit is dope man! Just because someone has sampled something it doesn't mean no one else can flip it. Drum Breaks get used over and over and know one makes a stink about it.

its funny cause i got a ton of friends who love wiz and stuff but aren't really deep into the underground/alternative hip hop world and they totally can't swallow some stuff i bump, but i bet they'll be feelin this, i personally don't really care for wiz at all, and i also fully agree that people can flip samples differently and thats legit, i'm pretty sure madlib wasn't the first to sample cortex, but that beat does seem a bit played to use in my (biased) opinion..........its funny readin the comments though, maaad dudes gettin real butt hurt over shit, talking about "madlib travels the world for his records and for some whatever to jack this blah blah blah, i just found out who madlib is and i don't listen to anything else, madlibs god"......i mean, i love lib's music and he is a big reason i do what i do with this shit, and he is also one of the few dudes i listen to that is still puttin out music to this day, but my main gripe with him is, and i guess its really more because of the internet, that kids get into this shit and get all hyped on sampling and whatever, and just ride his dick and download all his samples and flip shit he flipped, and they all only focus on flippin a single melodic sample, they don't look at stacking, mixing, cutting drum breaks in a unique way, whatever, its all about finding some crazy sample and maaaaaybe cuttin it up like crazy, but more than likely just loopin it, so many kids don't know a thing about digging for breaks and using drums properly and stacking sounds or whatever..........wow that was a bit of a rant, sorry if it doesn't make much sense

that wiz dude used the shit out of that doom mmm... food sample but come to think of it, Computers, another sp forum beatmaker used that sample too on his Bank C album and made a hot ass beat that dont sound nuffin like the wiz or the doom beat. so im with you bridge, cant front on a dude sampling anothers samples, thats fucking sampling, still makes me mad tho but i wasnt mad when computers flipped it. That wiz beat sound like they added drums over like 16 bars of the sample slowed down, kinda gay anyways and his flows is garbage!

EXACTLY! it kills me when heads dont really dig they just research.. i mean... it's cool when u first start and, like graffiti, u study other ppls styles and u might find out who they got there influence from and so on but u dont go and kinda flip what they just did... ur suppose to do it better if u can... i get excited when i find a sample that someone i idolize flipped... it feels like im goin in the right direction... i dont mind this dude really cuz from doing research on him, he hasnt really found himself... he actually came here on tour b4 and i almost went but bailed....
i got a number of recs that cats have already sampled that i wont sample unless i feel like i can do (flip) it better...
now his whole image is something else to discuss... i think it's a "just to fit in" image...

I agree with you guys to flip the sample differently but there wasn't much of a flip here that's the reason I got mad.
