Midi In/Out Ableton Live only triggers first 4 banks

Hey all, need some midi help with my 606.

trying to get live to trigger samples but its only triggering the first 4 banks.

When I change the pad base channel on the 606 to any channel, and then change the channel on LIVE to that same channel it only plays the first 4 banks of samples.

so I'm trying to trigger pad bank #20 Samples. looked at the grid in the manual and it says "Pad bank 20" notes = 83-98 Pad base ch+4

so i put everything on channel 4, write the notes in LIVE and it still doesn't trigger them, only the samples in the first 4 banks.

Does the 606 even let you trigger samples that are beyond banks 1-4??????

try changing the midi from type 1 to type 2 and let us know what happened..!

Yea I tried changing the type and it still didn't change anything.

I figured out if I write the notes in the appropriate spot on the piano roll, and send the recording to the 606 it records the data and plays it back on the 606 and is stored BUT I cant get live to trigger the samples in the piano roll.


so its sending the data to the 606 but I'm not getting to hear what I write before I send it to the 606.

Does anyone else have any other ideas? Type1/type 2 doesnt seem to change anything.

I have the same problem with my sp-606! I just can trigger the pad banks 1-4 with my Elektron Machinedrum.

Ok, now I got it. You have to send notes e.g. via midi channel 2 to play pad banks 5-8. Just leave the midi settings of your SP untouched.
