stereomike- nice track. the begining sounds like ill backround music to a movie. i enjoyed listening

ppg- the way the sounds were isolated and chopped was sick. nice switch ups too

Deta!L- cool beat. some sick switch ups.

Dj Franctic- sick shit. track was put together nice.

bishojo command- it was flipped nice. like the bass sound especially

holmes- real original. not my style of music but that was sick. how did you get that synth sounding bass?

blast1- cool beat. liked the grimy drums with the vinyl crackle.

This was a tough vote. I'm gonna go with ppg

Without exception, these were all very good. Style differences make it hard to decide for which one to go.

ok. Have listened thru a few times.

Stereo Mike - Really original sound design ( I have no idea how you made those sounds!) Like the ring mod melodies. Sounds a bit like an epic intro to a longer tune...

PPG - Super tight cuts, well mixed, great edits, lots of variation - can't fault it!

Deta!L - Listened to it the other day but can't quite remember it... now your player seems to have dissappered from Myspace! Can't comment - sorry.

Dj Frantic - Nice crunchy sound. Love the production and the super compressed mix; makes it sound huge! Especially like the little plucky melody sound that comes in around 0:50 and great use of filters over the whole mix.

Juxt - Wicked groove and well defined sounds. Nice use of space/gaps. Would sound sick with a vocal on top.

bishojo command - Real quirky groove and original sounds. V. effective simple bass. Again... with the right rap would sound awesome.

Blast1 - Nice drum sounds (kik would sound fat on a big system) and reverb on snare works really well.

Well... some really hot beats...
Tough decision but I'm gonna go with PPG cos those cuts are sooooooo tight!

FYI. That bass on my tune was made by resampling the shit out of the subsonic effect. Basically: compressed > eq'd with isolator > distortion by slightly overdriving the gain in the red (adds extra harmonics so the filter has something to bite onto) > then wah > then some nob twiddling hpf... and then I stuck the original sub underneath to make sure the low end was still solid. Booooom!

yeah I pulled mine down, wasn't feeling it and wasn't really wanting to rep it on myspace...strictly sendspaces or some other form until I can make a swingin beat on this sequencer (which I hate at the moment)

and I just made a dope ass beat on my 60 drums on the SP1200 bass on the SE1x and synth overlays on the microkorg...took like 3 hours or so and whamp-whamp fucking power surge or something and I lost everything.....sooo heated

anyway, back on topic, I'll vote tommorow haha

yo, try to quantize on 16.3 (16th note triplets) Or 32nd. It will add good swing.

well I've been using the double bpm trick of the sp1200 and it helps somewhat, but the total bpm stops at 180 if I can remember right which equals 90bpm regular so add that to the list for future OS changes that won't happen

I'll mess with it some more

I voted for Dj Frantic just because I got an idea for a beat right when I started listening to it, but Holmes came with something different and really well done, I think this battle had some really fresh results from everyone.

this may sound stooopid, but i went thru a coupla links a few days ago, and wasn't sure what tracks were the ones for the battle. obviously, they don't sound like the original track anymore, and some didn't have a name that would indicate they were battle-trax.

should i just assume that the FIRST track in each site is the battle one?
