Fuck, Please help

so i wake up this morning and go straight to my 404. what do i find? half of the buttons won't fucking work. I cant switch between gate and loop, it wont let me delete samples, i cant even record in! what the hell happened?

Never came across that problem before...
Try taking out the CF card and using a different one, perhaps? I really don't know...
Did you take your 404 to a party or something on the day before?

i know with the 505, sometimes shit goes haywire if you put the card in upside down (still sort of functions, but a lot of pads / banks are frozen out). so make sure yr card is in the right way.

turn it off and on a couple of times.

worst case, i guess re-install the OS? i've never had a prob like that on the 404. good luck mans.

So, what does reinstalling the Os do exactly, and how do i go about doing that? Thanks guys

Yea, try rebooting the enitre system, like a clean wipeout type of thing, or reformat if you will, im sure its in the manual somewhere, thats why its always handy to keep those damn things!!!

Alright i'll give that a try. I must mention that a day prior i dropped one drop of water on pad 12, but i continued to use it and it worked fine..

hahahaha a single drop of water.....my man figured it out though, apparently he somehow accidentally turned on protection, so he turned it off and everything is back to working normal

Hmm, that actually could be the problem since you continued to use it after the drop. My homie had a cell phone he dropped into a glass of bear and continued to use it all night. When the battery died he was never able to charge and turn the thing back on. Always want to turn your ish right off when something like that happens. I bet re-installing the OS is your best bet though. Hope it works for you!

thanks for all the concern dudes, but i finally came to the conclusion that protect was on. when i set my phones down it must of held remain down until the next morning when i turned it on...
