Memory Card Nightmare...HELP

Post by MatthewDavis4321 »

Hello,

Just received a Roland SP-404, and I am having the worst time getting it to work properly with the compact flash drive I bought for it. It is a SanDisk 1 Gig compact flash.

When I first started recording samples onto the memory card, it was working ok, but then noticed that sometimes when I recorded, it would do this weird fuzzy tremolo/pan effect that did not sound good. After working on recording samples for 10 minutes, and on only one back, then SP-404 said that my card was full (I was NOT recording a symphony, just drum hits). Afterwards, it crashed.

Now my sampler is fully functioning when I don't have the flash drive in, but now it won't even respond. It just says "404" on the screen and does not respond to any button pressed.

I know when I first put the card in I formatted it, and than i tried to reformat it after all this, but my machine is not letting me.

Anyone got any advice that I could use? I want to work this thing so bad, but the powers that be are not letting me :(

If the sampler is fully functioning when the CF card is removed, the issue is probably with the compact flash cards. Sometimes certian ones don't work, for mysterious reasons. Just try a different CF card.

K, thanks. What recommendations would you have for a compact flash drive? The one I bought was brand new and I thought sandisk would be a reliable brand...
