sp404 & keyboards question

I have been reading these forums for a answer to this simple question, I purchased a 404 last week and am really enjoying it already, I'm learning everything pretty quickly but I have a question I cannot figure out. I have a microkorg in the line in and when I go to record over the drum loop I have playing, the drum looop stops playing which makes it obviously difficult to play the melody. I dont want to use the metronome I would rather play over the drum loop or pattern to obviously get a better sound, any help would be appreciated thanks!

I did search the forum, read the manual as well. I stated I was a new sp user, what is a work around or solution that most producers working on a sp do?

ya the forums search engine is insane to go through. you type in any word and it searches every post for the words. so im with you there. i dont have a 404 but i got a 555 with the loop capture so i usually do it with that. ill at least try and help you out instead of tellin you to search for hours on a simple answer. cause after reading "mr. do a searches" comment, i tried do to a search and i cant find that shit. might have to... actually i dont know. maybe keep asking and a nice soul might help you out even tho its supposedly in here somewhere, or keep doing a search till you give up and find your own work around. oh, maybe play the keys you want over the drumloop, get something you like, then record those individual samples into the 404, like each key, then play em like samples. i dont know. does the microkorg record midi or audio, maybe get it right in there then record it to the 404.

It record audio, I think it can do midi too but Im not concerned with that. I just want to record simple 4 bar measures into the sp404 to loop over my drums, to then be able to sequence and have to perform live etc.

then record your measures in the microkorg then, play it and record it into the 404. thats a work around, or you shoulda got a 555.

find your bpm, put it into this website http://webmetronome.com/, and record yourself into the 404 playing in time.

thanks for that metronome link, im definitly gonna use that, i hate that sp loud ass beep, its annoying. and you can set the high bleeps and the low bleeps, ill find something to do what that.

before i got a second sampler i used to use it when playing my micron. i hate programming that thing, and it limits me to 8 bars when my friends micron can play 16 for some reason.

1.Just tap your foot to the beat. When you stop audio to record your new sample keep the beat with your foot and hear the beat in your mind and record your loop. Once you have your loop trimmed up right match the bpm of the sample to your drum loop/sequence.

2. This works on the 303 not sure if it does on other sp's. Re-sample, it will not want you to record from the input until you begin resampling, this is a pain in the ass, but it works. So you will pretty much have to play a bar of your loop while you record enable your sp, then play your over dub. Loop up the part with the dub,, truncate etc.

3. Sample in a bunch of random ass notes and chords and filp what you have.

4. Get another sampler and bounce back and forth or midi em up or whatever.

5. Record the whole shit live one take.
