yeah, it's a eurorack modular. I've been slowly selling/trading most of my gear to consollodate it into one suitcase that can do audio processing, sequencing, analog/digital synth duties and 8-bit sampling.

word. I've been toying with the idea for a while, and finally decided to go for it a few months ago. so far I'm really happy with it, only problem is now there are so many people making modules it's really hard to decide what to pack into a 6U(2 row)suitcase! you still on the fence about that machinedrum? now that I'm done with school for a while I might actually be able to make a video for you

i already bought the a-160/161 clock divider trigger sequencer combo, but it got shipped to the wrong address. doh! aside from that I dunno, I've been obsessing over the rack planner...I know I want a noisering for sure and I think a plaque bearer. beyond that though...I've been thinking about swapping out the z3000 for a hertz donut, but I might also go the other way and get the mfb osc-02. I also want to get an external midi to cv so i can lose the a190, and possibly get a wavefolder. I've been thinking a lot about the malekko/wiard oscillator as well and a spring reverb, but those might have to wait in favor of more utility modules (sample&hold, ring mod, VCAs)...
finishing off the case has proved to be the hardest decision making process thus far.

I've listened to a lot of demos of the plaque bearer and liked everything that I've heard...plus the price is right too!

What is it about the z3000 that you don't like?

Nope! Got a UW MK1 and love it! I would still love to see a video though. If I ever can get a camera I might make one too. I got a 303 to the left of my MD though!

i hear ya, luckily there are new cheaper alternative cases and DIY options now. I can't really say how much I got it for because it was part of a trade, i think broken down it maybe would have been around $270 USD. they are $385 new, which is still a lot better than $530 for the doepfer, and this one has the utility panel at the bottom and better PSU/busboards. I do like the look of the doepfer better though.

the monorocket cases are nice also and cheaper than the doepfer, i've been thinking about moving up to their 9U case in the fall if all goes well.
