MPC record problem

Post by nnato »

so check it out im recording into an mbox with no mixer in between the mpc 1000 and the mbox. when i play the tunes out the mp it sounds great. but then when i record it and playback i notice a high crackle/ noise factor.

for example: http://www.mediafire.com/?n5iogyjjw5o

is it just that i should filter or is it another problem?
holla at me cus its been quite frusterating. thanks

your output is way too high. what you are hearing is digital clipping.

digital will not distort ("warm") like analogue tape. you go past 0 dB, and all you get is that shitty crackle and fuzz.

so, you need to lower the output level of your mpc, or lower the record level of your computer, til you don't get that fuzz. drop stuff below 0 dB in yr audio recording app.

also, i recommend not giving people a 25 meg download to try to help you diagnose the problem - a minute or so via mp3 on a site that can play back (like box.net or whatevs) would be a better choice. no dis, just a suggestion.

drop yr output levels and yr golden. good luck, sasq.

peace.
