Yeah, I was lagging. I'd never used my sm card reader for loading samples so I was putting off learning how for fear that I would have some weird problem, it was nice and easy though.

from the sounds of it, the 404 is clearer and crisper and the snares sound much snappier. but it's hard to tell, because these files sound like they were recorded with different gain levels, and one is Mono, the other Stereo...

I like the 303 better. It sounded like the tracks fit together better, I dont know if that cuz of the machine or an inaccurate test.

The levels on the mix were completely different. We really should have recorded the beat with each sound on the sp at matching levels. I just mixed my file to the way I like it to sound 'cause I didn't have any other reference.

I had to adjust the sound level on each sample, after I imported them on my card the peak light would flash so I lowered the sounds so they would mix properly in the sampler.
