This was made only using a Boss SP-404 and mastered onto a Ol Dirty Tape
Cassette!
Each Beat was freestyled and done on the spot, with no regard for
structure,mix or quality!
I did this to represent the raw energy that was Ol Dirty Bastard. If you hear
mad tape hiss get over it,
Im takin it back to ANALOG were we all come from!
Peace to Varan for the art work!
Peace 2 all my WWI Headz!
Peace and keep it LO-FI!!

That's what I'm talkin' 'bout, one track masters. I never multi-track, if the levels are good in the 303 you don't really need each sound on a different track as a lot of mpc users feel. This is hip hop not some ferrante and teicher.

i make music the same way.
i make loops on my micron and plug it into the line in on my turntable and then directly into my amp which goes into a tape deck.
i just do cut tracks over it them.

i just got a 404 so im gonna be basically doing the same thing (making something between a scratch and a beat tape).

props LORD BEATJITZU. you really are an inspiration. im just downloading the ODB tribute tape now.
respect on taking it back to the analog.

a lot of people don't know but even if you record to cassette tape first and then onto your PC you get a different sound.
the analog tape saturates it.

The track I posted called "If I Die Tonight" was made that way. Vinyl>303>Sony Stereo Cassette-corder>Audacity.

You see,you have plenty of MPC users who are not creative but can get by with good programming, they rely on intricacies and that's not what hiphop is about.
I heard so much well produced beats but they don't provoke any emotion, and it goes to show that not a lot is needed nowadays to create great hiphop or electronica.

I think that the Step Sequencer in FL is mad dope,I made a few beats just using that and I don't feel like I would need all the extra features in the program.
