Thanks a lot Johnny!

Nuthin' special there.

I sample thru the 303 right into the MP, I chop, bang and arrange there, then I record into the SP thru its FXs and finally back into the MPC in order to get the wav file.

Basically there I use the SP-303 for the sound it gives to the my samples first and to the whole track then. I don't know if the results are up to the fun I get doing all with the two machines :)

Grazie Trovatore!

I've been told they sound too THIN for the INDUSTRY, for whatever that means...

I guess it's a matter of not layering but just filtering and compressing the break chops I got from vinyl...

In this case I just felt them like this, thou: I actually think that being the chops down-pitched they already sound full by their-own.

Anyways, "troppe pippe"...

That means they aren't fitting the mainstream right now. For instance, imagine your song being played in a club really loud, the drums definetely wouldn't kick, only the bassy sample would rumble.
But that's the club, unless you intended to do club/party music there's nothing wrong with your drums sounding "thin". Infact I like them because they're different to the usual "boom-bap", something else than just the good old bassdrum-snaredrum-hihat grooves.
Your track comes around very fresh and unusual, I like that. Makes me want to do something myself.

Thanks to both hotsauce and lonestar.

That's right... also I attempted some monitoring thru low-end large diagram's headphones (WESC OBOE) and indeed the kick feels boomy but doesn't really hit.

I don't think to be able to produce a CLUB-PARTY tune, but I'd definitely try to give some more cross-PA potential to the next beats... just to have it well translating in more general conditions (I'm sure you believe that on my HD-280s everything is clear and detailed! )

On a side note, you really shouldn't use headphones when making music, because of the reasons detailed here:

Blue Bear Sound - Headphones controversy

Also, from time to time you wish to listen to the beat you just made really loud, to check the feel of it and maybe just for fun. Don't do that on headphones! They can do severe damage to the ears, at much lower volumes than speakers do. That's because of the close proximity of the speakers to the ears. Do your ears a favor and use speakers.

Dear Lonestar, you are indeed shooting on a deadman! Not just my ears could get damaged, but the whole spectrum could just end up screwed in the mix!

http://www.audiorecording.me/why-you-should-not-mix-using-headphones.html

This site put it easily yet correctly:

1. Headphones will not substitute for the sub woofer which outputs very low/sub frequencies. This means if you are mixing using headphones, it may sound with less bass which in fact is very muddy in most monitors/speakers.

2. The frequency response of headphones is not the same as those studio monitors. This means there are times when you are working on a specific frequency and you may end up overestimating it, it is because headphones is poor in replicating it.

3. Headphones does not substitute real studio monitors like near field which have “flat frequency response” such as shown below:

Flat frequency response is highly essential for mixing success.

4. Also mixing using headphones poses some problems like its interaction with the environment; studio environment plays a role in shaping the sound. So engineers make necessary adjustments in order to blend the complete mix with the surroundings. If you are using headphones, sound will be biased only to the environment inside your ear.

But then again, WHY I KEEP ON DOING THAT?!?

First: that's partially true, I often use my ridiculously cheep Behringer MS20s to reference the overall spectrum (stop laughing, EVERYBODY! )

Secondly, because I don't have a studio and work on a table on my living room where Daughter and Woman watch TV, just below the staircase that bring to where the bedrooms are, and where they eventually go after watching TV.

The tradeoff is between MUSIC and NO MUSIC.

I will keep in mind that I may harm my ears, though. I'd try to lower the volume, probably.

Sorry for that LONG post, thanks for your advise.
