importing mono to sp404sx

hi there, what's up, i'm new to the forum...
i've just got a new sp404sx (already had a 303, loving both and the combi in particular) and i've been heavily browsing the 404 threads for tips and heads up, massive amounts of things already learned. thanks for that.

i have a question though, I've just loaded up my card with a bunch of drum kits and imported a few tunes to chop up... but now i've turned on the sp it has all the sounds as stereo with the sound being all on the left. Is there a way to import wavs as mono using the wave converter tool? there doesn't seem to be that option.
or do i have to resample everything to mono?

couldn't find anything in the manual about stereo setting except in the part about sampling via line-in.

hip hop beats, what else the idea of making beats on a computer doesn't attract me, i like the unquantized sound, so i've been looking around for something hardware... like the way of working much better, just one box of controls and fx to tweak in realtime.
oh wait, TWO boxes

oh btw, i'm still curious if there's a way to convert a stereo sample to mono (other than resampling), i notice i tend to run out of polyphony. maybe i should cut my samples a bit tighter on the tail, but i like to have a lot of drum hits cacophonously going on at the same time, and i've noticed that some parts are cutting out.
is there any way to prioritize a certain sample? probably not right?

Hi there,
there is no other way to convert to mono than resampling; but that's fine because it's practically lossless.
And the 404SX uses standard last note priority - last come, last serve

ok that makes sense, i had a long playing sample that was supposed to loop behind everything continuously. i guess i should just resample a bit and bounce the drum track to a single pad via the 303. maybe that's better than throw the stereo overboard.

another thing you could do is cut the long sample up so it gets retriggered thru the pattern and takes polyphony priority

another question, have any other sx users noticed sometimes right after resampling the pad you record onto doesn't seem to have anything on it, it doesn't light up and doesn't play anything, and then when you try again later (in my case after turning off and on again), the resampled part is suddenly there? that has happened a bunch on mine.
