can't tell really. they're all really rare right now, sorry.
basically the madlib expansion pack is a hardware unit that plugs directly into your SP-404 through the MIDI. it was made by some crazy guys in japan or something, i don't know the exact details. it's been programmed with to recreate madlib chops for you when you load s sample into the 404. it does this by it's clever AI system, basically it has been programmed with a huge catalog of madlib songs and their originals, it then takes all this info and can make a very detailed and acurate reproduction of madlib chopped beats.
you can update the thing over the internet as well. it also comes free with some beats, just to show what it can do.
needless to say it was an excellent find and i should be well on my way to GOAT standard.
ah i feel you man! i saw someone used that in a underground vhs tape i once got from a fleamarked! That guy was loading in vinylsamples and shit and the machine did amazingly work! it made som mad midimessanges to his sp so that the machine could control his whole sp true midi, not only the pads.. i want that thing!

Be careful when you upgrade the pack though, on the older versions of Mac OSX it can generate so called rational spikes which fuck with the AI module of the pack.
There is however a way to solve the problem which involves a very lowlevel dirty hardware hack.
I can't post any pictures 'cause my camera broke down but basically it boils down to opening the housing of the THC timer chip which is located next to the OS EEPROM. Once you opend the casing you just need to remove the crysal from it's seating, wait 5 secs and reinsert it. This will reset the timing and remove any trace of the rational spikes.
Bummer, it looks like I just broke my madlib expansion pack. What the hell? It no more produces madlib style beats but more of a pete rock style. darn. btw. don't spill coke on it!
I bought a madlib expansion pack to make fresh beats, my beats still suck but for some strange reason I've achieved some male expasion instead. If you ya know what I'm hollerin' 'bout.
