This is my first proper sp-404 song and I would enjoy some feedback. Thanks.

This is ok for your first crack at it I think you need to work on the sample tho its not looping as well as it could be there are some gaps at the begging of the sample. Youve done well to use so many chops tho having said that they dont always work. No hate
Keep it up

Hmm, it's alright for your first track, that's true, but as shank said, it doesn't flow together that well. Get those start and end points right on those samples, and keep at it. Start off with 2 bar patterns and once you get the hang of that, go to 4 bars.

Thanks for the feedback everyone. Cleaned up the samples a bit and quantized it to make it sound cleaner.

The start and end points are still not correct, maybe the whole BPM doesn't match the sample...your drums don't match up with the ones coming from the sample.

I resampled the drums instead of quantizing them to get a rougher feel. and some of the samples I trimmed before I could fix them and I didn't feel like re-sampling them again...

To get a rougher feel? You know you could've resampled the drums and still used the sequencer, then the drums would've matched up. I don't get why everyone's shitting on the quantize function.

I once shit on my quantize button, it hasn't worked the same since. All sticky, and stuff- truly don't recommend it.

But this is a cool beat, I can easily say it was better than the first beat i put out on the sp. Keep doing your thing.

yo man.
did you just start doing this stuff? if so then i feel like your on the right track.

the start and end points are wrong. but that doesnt mean that the song is wrong. if you feel it then your straight.

that said, the only thing i would do to spice things up would be to not sample incredibly well known music.

or if you do, chop/fuck it.

but thats just me.

keep it up
