Anyone make their own songs to sample?
Anyone here make songs that they use just to sample and flip them? I'm working on this song right now that i think would be better as a sample and got a great idea of making a beat tape with all of my own samples. Don't know it's probably been done before but just thought i would ask if any of you do it.

Yeah man, I use to do 6hr sessions on a synth and just do improvisations and record it to cd. Wasn't really composed songs, just spirit of the moment melodies. I got like 50 cds of that shit.
My old music was constructed off those, but when I changed my name to Ill Green, its been vinyl ever since.

I'll probably get back into sampling myself again, its just that I did it for 10 years that I got burnt out and returned to vinyl.
Whats cool is that I would listen to records and try to mimic the sample, but it wouldn't even sound like it. It'll sound totally new and different and I'll be like "alright, the song fucked my mind good and this is our child".
Mad props to those that can play guitar and piano or any other instrument. Thats where its at! I got tired of the synth sounds that I made.

I'm glad you asked

"Boggy Crack" was all me head to toe, no sampling off anybody. Just random works that fit together and made this piece in 2002.
But those improvs will remain hidden in the vault til I'm 50.

I do it all the time. I like to sample my guitar straight in threw the mic input on my 404. I love the raw sound that you get after you compress it.
