i have one from an old dr.202 and i want to try it but i dont want to fry it.

I'm not at home, so I can't check what I have, BUT I believe the Dr 202 and the SP 202 have interchangeable power supplies...

My SP202 came with an official Boss 9V power supply. I got a Dr202 that did not come with a power supply. I tried my SP power supply with the DR and it worked fine....

Since then I have gone ahead and used a number of different 9V power adaptors with both machines and not run into any problems.... I've used generic 9V ones and also ones for guitar pedals...These days I'm using this exact adaptor:

that way I can have multiple things plugged in and only use one spot on my surge protector... I power my SP202, my DR202, various pedals, and my Sampletrak all off of this 9V adaptor with no problems at all... NOTE the Sp404 can not be powered this way.

Long story short if you have the official DR-202 power supply it should be able to power your SP-202 just fine...

FYI I just google imaged this and it does appear to be the exact same Boss power supply that I tried on both machines... You should be good....

thanks dr. tad. i tried it but the adapter itself is busted. it didnt work for the dr.202 when i had it. i was hoping it might work with the sp, but no luck either. thanks for the help man.

I noticed you say the psa-120t boss adapter will work for the sp-202 and not the sp-404. What about the sp-303?
