1. Download ableton live.
2. Manually Warp all your mp3s (for time stretching later)
3. Sort "like" tempos of mp3s
4. Record to SP
5. Profit!

I do them at my live shows.

first I sample that acapella off the record on to the 505 or 606

then I just figure out the tempo by playing it alongside the metronome or just tapping it out.

then I either just bang the samples out over the acapel live or I play the acapella on one sp and play a sequenced beat on the other.

the hardest part is finding a tempo match but once you know that your golden.

thanks guys, i was pretty much doing it like recording a loop of some different intrumentals into the 404sx and then doing the same for various acapellas and what not, and just mangling them together, i have a 303 as well, so i'll see what i can do with 2 sp's, other than that i try to stay away from incorporating the laptop into this situation, ableton is decent though, im more of a cubase type of guy.

cubase is the shit, the time stretching in that thing is precise and sounds really good. imagine a sp with perfect time stretching, it be fuckin on!!!! but uh, anyone mind telling me what are mashups? i think i got an idea from the comments but id rather get a clear answer. im trying to rock some parties this summer and get my sp full of tempo-ed breaks and loops and rock out. the ableton trick sounds good cause that warping is the shit, just very technical with all then fuckin yellow tabs. i cant stand software with little interfaces like fuckin reason.
oh yeah, got off track, mashups?

here's an example but im still learnin the method, but the homie pudge matches accapellas in his head on the fly with serrato he might have to slow the tempo down a lil or speed up the accapella a tad bit. but he tells since he been dj'ing for years he remembers the beats from the original song then he decides this acappella may match kinda close. http://vimeo.com/9904238
