Symphony Sounds - Instrumental Tape
HellFire and Explicit from mpc-forums.com took a bunch of beat makers including myself to make a melodious mixtape. Rules were to make an instrumental with any kind of sampler you feel fit and this is the product:
http://symphonysounds.bandcamp.com
I contributed Swamp Shoes and Dead Ficus Tree using the MS-1 and the almighty SP606 with a friend's Remix 16.
The album is BLAZIN' thats why I posted it.

My friend was selling the Remix 16 on ebay back in October '09, so I said let me mess with it until its sold. So I just grabbed a random record and made a raw version of Swamp Shoes. Next day, he wants it to mail it out to a buyer. I was pissed but I dumped all the samples in the SP606 where it was finished. I forgot where I took the samples from, thats like the third time I sample and forget the source.

Yeah, I heard them, but their sample is from the movie Scarface with Al Pacino. Funny I felt the same vibe when I saw that movie, I was like "damn that feels like swamp shoes!"
I gotta find that record where I sampled it from, all I remember is the crate I popped it out from.

Ill, when you say "dumped" you mean you sample from the remix16 to the 606 or really you dumped the samples via midi to the 606? in this case i didnt knew that the remix16 was able to dump samples...it would be cool...

Re: Symphony Sounds - Instrumental Tape
No, I threw them on cd, then sampled them via usb from my comp to keep the sound.
I'm MIDI retarded, I don't know what that sh!t is
I keep it old school in my crib and play samplers like two turntables and a mixer. I like to be in control of all of it

Re: Symphony Sounds - Instrumental Tape
ah ok
you know i got the yamaha su10, a primitive sampler from 1996 (like the remix16), you have no floppy/other way to stock samples on it so you can save/load samples like this (via midi), but i never tried...
