Re: DOOM
who cares? I swear thats the same reason everyone thinks Madlib is so great. Cus he uses a 303 and a 606 plus he has the whole spaced out futuristic stoner, turbin, 3rd world jewelery wearin image that attracks people who trick themselves into thinkin they like his music. Except Dooms music for the most part is good. But it doesnt matter which sampler they use to make beats.

Re: DOOM
Sorry... just found these boards the other day when I was trying to find a difference between the 404 and 404sx. I was also reading some posts about sound differences of 303 and 404 and I could of swore all people said Doom uses 303. Whatever.
Anyway thanks for the welcome. And I do believe Madlib is a very dope hip-hop producer. Mainly because he has a great ear for loops and a tremendous record collection... but he is far from a musical genius. Same goes for Doom.
Or maybe I'm just fooled by the turbin, mask and rings. Those bastards!!!

Re: DOOM
DOOM can pour syrup on shit and call it pancakes and there'll be a mob of ppl saying "thats the best damn pancakes I ever ate".
Seriously though, its peeps like DOOM that bring new heads to this forum that get inspired by him. I think its dope, even though I was rockin' SPs before he wore the mask. I'm just saying.

Re: DOOM
lol, its funny how much madlib has fallen out of favor with people recently. lately his stuff has just seemed kinda unmotivated and just kind of bland.

Re: DOOM
No offense. But The fact that DOOM uses a 404 doesnt mean it would be any better or worse if he used an MPC 5000. Who uses a Gibson, who uses a Fender? Slash or Keith Richards? At the very end...the way it sounds is all that matters. Oh yeah, ignore everything you just read..for I am just stating my meaningless satirical opinion.

No, you're stating the blatantly obvious. +1 again.
