ANTEE
Funky groove and good breaks - what else could you ask for? More FX, maybe.

elhuana
Haha, gritty beat with lots of human flavour. Seemingly bad timing at first, but the groove grows on you.

gis_sweden
Nice, atmospheric track with quite some vibe. I especially like the middle part with all those nice reverbered swooshes and bells and whistles. Nice mellow bass added too - this sounds almost like a complete song.

Wax Inspector
"Yea. Oh! Maaaaan" comes to mind, I don't know why. Nice work on the guitar cuts, nice drum work too - the snares almost sound like what you'd expect from a commercial production.

Hard to pick a winner here, but for me it's gis_sweden because it's the most complete, consistent and atmospheric track.

antee - classic boom bap - enough said
GIS - nice, chilled out beat, I like your chops a lot.
LoneStar - really punchy drum pattern which I liked, but the chops didnt blow me away. Keep trying!
Wax - nice delay parts, the whole pattern sounds really good
I go with un[cle] T. for his solid, classic interpretation.

Thanks gis :)

elhuana, yeah I actually agree... after recording and posting I in fact felt a little guilty for not using more of the cuts I made - I even prepared some reversed ones of the guitar and several more of the Ahh chorusy parts of the source material. Oh well, I guess I just got off on playing the bassline lol

elhuana - will try, will try... I even dream of winning a battle one day so I can annoy the hell out of everyone with digital electronic mayhem samples sounding like shattered glass. If you know what I mean ;)

I have a strong techno/electro background, different to most people here who clearly seem to come from hiphop/rap. I rather like to think all of those styles blend and mix very well, the production technique and equipment is almost identical anyways.

I liked Antee's and Elhuana's beat, but I think LoneStar did a very clean job at a different angle than the other submissions; this is why he gets my vote.
