i've heard you can use these two together...like the p606 software.

Kinetic 2 is basically the same type of program as P606, the difference being that P606 was made specifically for the SP-606.
When it comes to exact features, I don't think you should buy Kinetic 2. But as some people have issues with P606, Kinetic 2 sometimes turns out to be a better solution.
(mind you, most people that have issues connecting their SP-606 to P606 or any type of DAW in Windows, usually have too much simultaneously registered USB devices in the Windows register (limit of 10 devices). )
