Ha ha- you know that Kool Keith song Apt. 223- ha ha that song RULES! Getting silly with the numerology even tho I don't have a 555 (wouldn't mind having one though!). Been burning calories trying to get some big shit popping in my world- Bigup @ Ill Green & Teewok! The whole awards thing- I think if we're going to do it for the year we've got to do it in like December of that year. Yo @ DrewDank- don't listen to people myspacing you with critiques unless it is RZA, Pete Rock or someone that's rulin'. Dare you to email him back & say his stuff sounds too manicured & that he should run it through YOUR equipment- ha!

I got some hot tips here for the 606- but if applicable for any SP if applicable (only if applicable):
Heads know that the 606 volume is low- try this:
Activate the mastering button, then go into the settings, and whatever preset is on put the compression ratios to 1:1, then boost the high and low to your speakers delight- for some reason the 606 leaves mad headroom, but try that and you will get the 606 "in the red!" without unwanted 'pression!

ALSO: Don't know if anyone ever mentioned this 'trick" before- it's not really a trick, but say I'm recording a pattern to my multitrack - If I have a mono kick and a mono snare I just pan one all the way Left, and the other all the way Right- this "separates" the sounds so they can get laid onto their own track with no bleed- and you know having the K & S on separate tracks helps a lot in the mix- like a 'poor man's' two individual outs!

I'm trying to set off some big fun soon- I have another interactive idea that can get forums heads involved and I have plans to do a remix contest soon. The prizes won't be diamonds & Gucci- but I'll make it flavorful- bet!

Hope everyone is having a good Oh-Ten! Bless!

Just noticed your post count is at 555.

Thanks for the volume tips. Rarely do I go to the mastering section. Each one teach one.

Peace

dude i noticed that too... i've just been getting into the habit of sampling everything with the mastering button having the louder ratios written... good call
big shit should definitely be popped in oh-ten tho i agree. I've been smoke-free (cigarettes) for exactly 2 months now and it finally feels pretty good
