so some dude on myspace said my beats were alright but if i used his equipment they would be top notch...? he said that there was too much other noise like the vinyl crackles and shit...and like when i eq or master or whatever my tracks i fuck with the bass and shit and highs and lows and leave the vinyl. is this wrong? like people hating cuz my beats dont sound "correct"? lol anyone else have this fucking problem

If you're happy with the way your beats sound than that's all that matters. What is bad noise to that guy is probably good noise to some of us.

i think that shit ads soul to your beats. look at someone like burial, so much of his sound comes from that realm of "noise" that people like the dude on myspace work so hard to get rid of...i think a lot of people don't take into account how things like that relate to the concept and intent of the music. chances are if you are making beats on a SP you dig that stuff; otherwise you would just be using a pirated copy of reason, 40gigs of refills and a cheap m-audio controller to make me too "bangers"

some people dont understand the lofi thing.. some people love it..

dont let other people tell you your music is wrong tho :P

and the gear is irrelevant really.. sure its character comes out a bit in anything you do, but it doesnt make your music 'better'.. just 'different'
