New to the forum, gotta question about reformatting

Post by indust_23 »

Ok I stumbled upon here looking for advice and got alot more info on my new friend sp. Just wanted to say cheers for the help beforehand.

also I finally decided on getting two kingston flash cards cos of the good price and I'm getting a sharp crack and wavering volume throughout the sample. and its not happening on the internal banks.

I'm wondering if I formatted it wrong. cancel->remain then you have to delete the banks to reformat but once I delete a bank it is still blinking when I go to the next one.

These fucking memory cards are hard as hell to find then once you ship one from halfway across the world they don't even work? Anybody else havin problems with the kingston's?

p38 of the manual has formatting info- seems like you are doing it correctly. Are there samples left after you format? Try formatting the card in your PC or Mac and then using it- it should force a reformat. CF cards are not known to be flakey in my experience- and I would expect it to corrupt data or not work at all if it were malfunctioning. Make sure you do not have any efx on the sample- I ran into this recently and it was driving me crazy as there was a vinyl sim on the pad but the light was not on and it threw me off.
