My Sp-404 is acting wierd...
sometimes when I record a sample onto a pad the sound will pan from side to side (without the pan function selected) very strange...

are u sure effect #6 isnt assigned to the pad or #6 effect wasnt on while you sampled it into the machine?
the only other thing i could think of is bad cables

I'm Absolutely sure there aren't any effects assigned... Tried different cables as well. I doubt it's the cables... sometimes it's good.

are u sure the effect wasnt assigned to the ext source while you sampled it into the machine?

Yup, the same happens if I resample a sample to another pad...

does it pan smoothly as if you did assign the pan effect to it or does it sound all fucked up?

it sounds like the effect... but as I said, sometimes it samples allright, and sometimes this happens... (and I haven't even used the effect since it started happening)

you know sometimes when i sample and i have "stereo" clearly selected my sample comes out panned to one side. very strange. It doesnt happen that offten but happens nonetheless. wierd!

I dont know anything about os shit but check frantics suggestion in this thread

you can try it. This seems like a hardware issue but it couldnt hurt to try.
