the pt01 is awesome.
it has 33 45 & 78 rpm settings
but if you jimmy the switch so it's half way between 33 and 45 you get something like 15 rpm. it's a dope trick. plus you can then slow that down with the pitch knob.

Ohhhh man i'm gettin one :)

Wow! You folks have made me feel heaps better about my gear fixation... Only got 3 hardware samplers (ESX, SP-606, MPC500), but I've messed around with the BR-600's toneload function to act like a sampler & used the hell out of Reason's NN-XT.

Wouldn't say I'm addicted, just compelled. Constantly.

It's all I think about...

...sampling...

*denial*

I sympathize. After using the hardware samplers it's really difficult for me to go back to Reason, Renoise, Reaper, or any sampler plugins. I have all this software right here on my laptop but still I reach for my XR20 (only piece of hw atm) before any of it. There's just something about dedicated hardware that makes the whole process more enjoyable to me.

Ha! NN-XT's nice to have with all its features, but yeah- its sucks to navigate after using hardware. Reason makes we wish that OS makers (Apple & Microsoft) would let you have at least 2 mice to use like hands. Who seriously only uses 1 hand to control their hardware? So why should software be limited like that?

*in before SHUT UP AND BUY A MIDI CONTROLLER*

I have, it sucks lining midi controllers to DAWS. Hardware rules.

Amen to that hahaha. In many software samplers I really just can't get an acceptable work flow going, especially when the sequencing is done in my MV8800. I don't need the whole copy/import/export drama of transferring samples from one program to the next just to get marginally better compression or other FX. I can do most if not all of that inside the MV, sometimes using external hardware, so the MV will always be my main sampler.

It's also about a hundred times more intuitive than most software samplers, but I realize that's for most probably a matter of taste. I know plenty of cats who claim software will 'sample faster', but that's basically not really true. You're still going to go through the same steps to get your samples right.
