New synth from Dave Smith. Fans of the Mopho will probably be exited as its basically a four Mopho's in one box.

Does anyone here have one of these? I've been thinking about purchasing one lately and would love to here some opinions.

I had mopho for about 2 weeks, and I was really impressed with its sound. It's really THAT fat. I just couldnt stand it's "monophonicness" plus it was a little bit too tricky to tweak all the parameters without any external controller which I didnt have at this time, so I sold it.

I think I'd definitely spend some more time with Tetra.

I've used the evolver... it was cool.. I'm going for the mopho next - more analogue, sub oscillators instead of the 2ndary digital oscillators on the evolver..

Agree with whats said above.. the mopho sounds PHAT.. 4 voices of mopho would be the fatness...

the sequencer in DSI synths is also really awesome.

I think I read somewhere that the Mopho and Tetra both use DCO's...If that is true, how are these synths 100% analog?

I think the signal flow would be 100% analog, the digital control is not in the signal flow it is a digital way to control something analog.

yeah DCOs are still completely analogue sound sources, it uses digital technology to keep it in tune though - kinda like "hey analogue oscillator.. this is the frequency you should be at"..

this is because analogue oscillators dont hold their pitch 100% stead. you have to warm some of them up before you start using them, and every now and then you will need to retune it manually.

some people think this is part of the character of an anlogue synth, but if you want to emulate the pitch drift, just assign a very subtle amount of not-too-fast random LFO to the pitch
