uh, yeah - hey monolog welcome to the forums! heh....

there's no auto chop on the 404, sadly. the 505 and (i fink) 606 do have the auto chop, but their own limitations.

with the 404, 303, etc you DO get the 'mark' button, which really lets you quickly chop & resample stuff to other pads. i find, far faster than using a pc / screen to chop.

autochop on the 606 is kinda key and saves a fuck load of time for me... what i do is just hit sample one time, play 16 different drum samples (they gotta be short stabs) leaving lil gaps in between me playing them... then hit "autochop" and boom my bank is filled with my drum kit...... Now i dont have to sample a bass kick on a pad, then move to the next one ultimately having to press the sample button 16 times. not to mention having to adjust the start and stop times which is whack and unnecessary

but.. u cant autochop no loop... thats just wrong lol

If you wat something to help you autochop quickly to make samples for the 404, recycle is pretty sweet.

Hahah, depends man. Some break style loops will give really sick remix results when chopping at each beat. Must be a loop with like 16 beats though for this to work properly, but people that do a lot of remixes, use this all the time. ;)
