sample packs for you all!!

Post by kungfu_panda »

first off i'd like to make sure if it is appropriate to upload my own samples.

my friend goes to the Hanoi National Conservatory of Music. It is kind of like Berklee of Vietnam. Check out their site here http://nhacvienhanoi.org.vn/

and he has got a lot of free time to practice in their labs and such, during which he and I will just use that as our own studio time LOL. their labs, as you would expect, have most of the instruments known to men, even some ethnic instruments as well.

so i can just sample those and upload it to you guys if it's approved by the mods. the samples will be in 24bit/192khz, recorded through the school's Protools HD3 rig.

let me know what you all think. Cheers.

Wow, that would be cool! I just did a quick search on vietnamese instruments, if you have things like this:

that'd be awesome if you can record some sounds!

PS: If you record yourself playing an instrument there's no problems with copyright or whatever, because that recording belongs to you ;)

ok, i'll upload some samples for you guys. Our next scheduled "lab time" is this weekend, we will try to record something.

@ Blindfold: the instrument in the second picture is very popular and cultural in Vietnamese music. It's called the "tì bà", which literally means "on a woman's lap" and that's how it is supposed to be played too, a female musician would put it on her lap and play the strings. sounds dope tho if you're into that kinda stuff. I have no idea what the first one is.

i'm play drums myself and my friend is attending there for piano and engineering, so most likely, you will see some drums sample first. 8) which is cool because i know us SP-users always need more drums, right guys?
