Sampler addiction?

Post by cartesia »

So I just ordered my 3rd sampler off ebay

I am well and truly addicted... so now I've got:

2x Korg Electribe ES-1
1x SP 404SX

I'm still on the lookout for an akai S900/S1000 and a yamaha SU 700 with hard drive upgrade...

Once upon a time I didn't use samplers at all

I still haven't bought any of the synths I'm planning on getting... or effects... argh!! (mopho, mbase, mbrane, t-resonator, modfactor.. argh!)

anyone else suffering from this?

I'm definitely addicted as well, but I try to justify a purchase by it's use though. :p If it remains unused for too long, it has to go.

I think I'm good with my MV8800 and SP404 for now though. Only thing that's left on my wishlist at the moment is the V-Synth XT, but it being so damn expensive is holding me back.

Right now I'm without a sampler at all. I have owned an ASX-Pro, Roland S-550, SP-303, SP-404 (twice), Akai S20, and an MS-1 that I never got working right. Out of all of em I wish I still had the 303 and the S20. Nowadays I'm considering the MPC-500.

the su700 is awesome

I made my album superclubs almost entirely on the su700 you can Listen to it on that lala site. it's a dope sampler. it can operate in true 8 bit and save massive samples and songs to one single floppy.

its +/-10 kel, definitely grab one if your low on cash, you can even scratch on it if you don't mind havin the plate be a little off axis sometimes (you gotta do it on the inside of the plate), although i'm sure over time it will ruin the table for scratching and even playin some records if they're warped, i got other turntables so i didn't do it on my pt01 too often

the pt01 is awesome.
it has 33 45 & 78 rpm settings
but if you jimmy the switch so it's half way between 33 and 45 you get something like 15 rpm. it's a dope trick. plus you can then slow that down with the pitch knob.
