Wait til all the NAMM stuff is out in the open before you go nuts. It'll be good to hear another user opinion on the SX.

Mine just came in today! It's just what the doctor ordered! I don't see any other piece of hardware similar in feature and price coming outta NAMM this year. Beat Thang? Couldn't make it to NAMM this year (which broke my 6 year streak) because of work and leaving to Santa Cruz tomorrow, so I couldn't say I've seen it. The trip to santa cruz is one reason I bought it! All I gotta say is embrace that new gear smell!

Heh... nah I have enough on my wishlist already.. and I really only buy stuff that I feel will be *really* important to me.. rather than 'thats cool, i want one' stuff...

It's already a tough enough choice for me between like... xio 25/mopho desktop/M.Brane/MBase11/M-resonator/etc etc etc

so many M-something's from jomox lol! :P Maybe it stands for 'motherfucking'? hahaha..

Jomox M(otherfucking)Base
Jomox M(otherfucking)Brane
Jomox M(otherfucking)Resonator

Yup... I think thats it!

Can't wait for the 404SX to arrive... honestly the thing that sold me is being able to backup all the banks - I'm gunna use it not just like a sampler/beatbox, but also like a multitrack recorder/arranger for songs when I'm on the road... just keep fillin them banks up, then making backups.. gigs and gigs of it.. brilliant!

w00t!

404SX will be a joy to sequence from your arduino set-up too, MIDI'd drum samples with wicked FX to twist

yeah man! I've had a bit of a breakthrough with the arduino gear too.. the sequencer isn't up and running yet (mostly soldered though), but I've segued into a really fascinating area/use..

You know Bome's midi translator (or one of the other similar ones?)

I've made a little midi-translator box that does some REALLY sweet stuff..

if i plug the midi out of my Es-1 into it, and the midi out of the box into the midi IN of the ES-1..

because the ES-1 sends note triggers for every part's sequence,.. I've made the arduino box detect the incoming note, then trigger a CC automation "envelope" (decay only atm) - which is then turned into a NRPN that corresponds to that drum part's volume level and sent out to the ES-1..

the result... is realtime decay control!!

It still has a bit of trouble working when multiple hits happen at once but im working on it... I've also added a pot for every part's level so i can mix the sample levels without having to switch between selected part on the es-1 itself..

also it should be very easy to add assignable LFOs- and once the sequencer bit has been finished, i will be able to do mod-sequencing a-la parameter locks!

but yeah.. still early days.. gotta fix the decay thing.. which in itself is a breakthrough! I wanna get pitch envelope happening too.
