Just pulled the trigger a moment ago after debating between the mpc500, watching craigslist for a used one(not sx), and frequently visiting this site. I just wanted something that I can trigger drum samples to go along with a KP3 and Xio Synth. The pattern builder will help out also. Having to use SDHC cards is awesome plus I already have a 16gig waiting for it. The first production piece of equipment I've ever owned was a new SP-202 and bought a used DR-202 to go along with it. It was kind of a love/hate thing with it as I sold it at one point, then bought it back, then sold it. I just hope that NAMM, which I will a be attending on Thursday, doesn't leave me thinking my purchase is obsolete, haha.

Cool, you got to keep us updated about the NAMM show! :) I am very interested in finding out whether Roland releases something new sampler-related.

No doubt I will bring a report, but it seems like Namm news travels real quick these days and faster than ever due to Twitter. This will be my 7th straight Namm, but I think this one will be the most anticipated one especially for the DJ/remix industry.

Do you know any big name brands that are rumored to release something big then? I thought the overall interest in the coming NAMM show was actually pretty low compared to earlier NAMM shows.

I'm getting more excited by the day though, I did hear some tasty rumors.

As far as I know the Ableton and Serato collab has everybody's eye focused on their project: http://www.youtube.com/v/Jn4azy4FXBY?hl=en_US&fs=1

There will be tons of midi ish (possibly HID) from many manufacturers. I haven't heard anything about any production hardware but I can bet that there will be some sort of buzz.
