MPC FORUMS people are silly

Post by ormo »

man I just copped a 500 and I was reading through the pages at mpc-forums.com and the people over there are on some rude/small bully type stuff. I don't even want to join.

people come on with questions and they just tease them and say go read the manual dunny dun stacks.

on another note the mpc 500 is siiiick.
nothing like an sp but still amazing in it's own right.

I just feel like the people who frequent this joint are so welcoming and want to build rather than isolate.

I'm tearing up.

@ Ormo:

Agree with everything you've said in that post. Nearly joined that one too, but I just couldn't see the point. Sometimes manuals are ambiguous & getting something explained in different terms shouldn't be a crime.

yeah thats true in alot of ways thats def true, but its also changing in case of mv nation. there's also without a doubt a lot of knowledge there for the taking even for forumlurkers. i think the mpc forums really tends to ignore or insult newbies simply because they once experienced the same when they were newbies ...

Yeah, mpc forums can be a pain in the ass, and there's a lot of homophobia and shitty attitudes over there. There's SO much frontin' I donno how those cats find time to make beats.

But I have posted questions about my 1K and had answers, so it does happen.

Of course, if you have questions about yr 500, you could pro'lly just post them here under 'other gear' section, cuz other cats have mpcs.

And yeah, much love to the sp-forums. I think we crack down pretty hard on lame attitudes here cuz we know how they can spoil the vibe for everyone. Been a member here for a coupla years now and I'm really happy about how chill we've kept it. Props all around.

After reading the manual i still couldnt completely understand the MPCs over complicated way of saving. so i asked over there for some help about 4 years ago. and got this response

http://www.mpc-forums.com/viewtopic.php ... 79#p374979

I pretty much only go there for the off topic section now to see whats going on in the world.

thats so lame indeed. there are also, and i'm not joking, many many cats over there that do not own any mpcs who will respond to all kinds of topics anyway . very annoying!

so lame, and i've seen even worse to the exact same question. here's the perfect way to save on the 1k, and a dude had to post it to Future Producers cuz there was just no love on the MPC forum:

I joined there looking for some info on my 500. I've seen alot of tough-guy clownery go on there. One guy got clowned so hard that he closed his dedicated site for samplers, called yoursampler.com. now its just a message saying mpc forums are haters. I tried to encourage him to move on but dude went awol.

I must admit, I do get rowdy there but not without cause. Muhfukrs are assholes there and superficial stuck ups. I just stick around for Your Music because I dig new stuff.

I am proud to be with this forum. I'm a convert. 8)

Yeah, but the silly thing over at MPC forums is that nearly everyone tends to act like they're tough and make like the best music ever, when in reality 99 out of 100 people plain suck at making music. Some even seem to be posting more onto that forum than making beats for crying out loud. :p

The SP crowd over here is like a million times more creative for sure, no question and them I'm not even hating on the MPC crowd, it's just a fact.

I suspect the average MPC forums member is very frustrated. There's also a weird kind of tendency for secrecy when it comes to work-arounds and tips. That's just plain stupid IMHO.

Half of those guys don't even got gear, and most just use FL. I got clowned on my first postings myself, was called a homo, idiot, poser, you name it. But I toughed it out, because I wanted to give kids that wanted to learn some knowledge. I know someone will read my posts and learn something. I did made good friends there too, but most ppl there aren't your friends. They might laugh at a joke or two of yours today, but tomorrow they'll jump on the bandwagon with the rest of the clowns to insult you.

My story is that I'm on the cel often and my old phone was able to post there while I couldn't here. Thats why my post count is larger there. But now I got a new phone and I'm able to post here now while I'm unable to post there.

I gotta admit its like a Jerry Springer Show over there most times, funny ish goes on. I found this place by accident because I'm really a Roland-Head and just typed sp instead of mpc and BAM, here I am.
