Analog output very low

Post by chaosdrone »

Hello,

i've bought a used SP-808 with an OPT-1 Multi-I/O extension installed.
The gear works itself but the normal chinch master out and aux out are very low! I've to set my mixer input to max and the output to max to get a normal signal but i'm not able to reach a peak,
Phones and Digitial out are normal loud (factor 5?) against this.

Is this normal, i don't think so?
May you know a solution?

Stefan

hi stefan,

I have the same problem as yourself, hence my search and joining of this forum.

Someone suggested that the solder connection may have broken (thinking about it, he is probably right, our machines are verging on the ancient).

Any old hands shed some light on why its so quiet?

is there some kind of setting in the SP-808 that changes the volume output?

some devices have a hidden setting that is like (-12dB) or something..that goes on the master ouput.. i think the SP-404 had this, I know the MPC500 did too.
Samples.
