yeah I do like the 303's pads although the ones on mine are really worn out (1 and 5 get stuck) so maybe I'll take it to a place to get em fixed up. Right now I'm using it as an effect box along with the 404 to have double compression or diff. effects together live....shit is so magical.

thanks sleeps numb. sample trak is something ive been looking into for awhile ive always wanted to check that thing out. numerik i think? pt that tape out with it. it is a dope tape.

jon that sucks about the worn out pads. did you notice when you play with the vinyl sim knobs it has like a hiss to it on the 303? it does on culps too.

I rock with a 1000 myself.

Used to have a 303 as well, but I sold it to pay some bills.

I'd like to get another 303 though.

I love those effects.

Damn dp that's awesome. AND you scored a 303. you're all set for endless music. i use a 2500 w/jjos and a 404. something awesome about it is, you can use 32 or 64 mb cards and they are compatible with both machines. you can take your mp sample, switch it into the 404, apply an effect and return it to the mpc with no generation loss :!: and you can name it quickly with the see-everything-at-once way of working jj provides.

dp wrote:yo iiiii, i decided to learn the akai a bit beforegoing to the jj, and just a couple hours ago i got the free jjos and holy fuck it blew my mind so simple and so crazy how easy the chop feature is man seriously get a 2000 xl, you wont regret it.

i'm confused. is the akai os better on the 2000 xl? i've never used one.

all i got was shoes and hot sauce for christmas, but i got ALOT of hot sauce  playing a show with my old band for new years so it should be a nice start to 2010.

mmmmm hotsauce. haha.

and i was just sayin i got the feelin for the mpc with the akai os then switched it up to the jjos and all i could think was, 'damn thats what the hype is about" aka i like the jjos loads better.

or do you mean the mpc 2000xl doesnt have a jjos? im not to familiar with the mpc world hahaha.

jjos is only on 1000 and 2500.

even if you aint got the cash, get the free jj os as it is much more stable when it comes to saving projects etc.

good looking on the 1k, is dope. i try and use mine very much like an sp, only use one pgm but have all m samples across the banks for instant access.

so good - congrats manses on all the booty.

on the JJOS tip - i was using the free JJ and still found the mpc1000 pads SUPER hard. but i upgraded to the first level of paid JJ (which I think is version 4.99) and there's a second level of sensitivity adjustment, and now the pads are buttery soft.

you can get the same adjustments with the akai OS version TWO (not the standard akai OS the boxes ship with), but if you go to OS 2 you still have all the other akai OS problems.

on the garfield tip, you cats (no pun!) seen this before?

http://garfieldminusgarfield.net/

dude took all the garfield comix and just removed garfield. pretty existential and disconcerting. i love it.
