303 with Midi

Hello all.

I have had a SP-303 for a good couple of years now but used it mainly for thru FX while I was DJing on my Vestax scratch mixer.

I have now gone digital with a laptop, traktor scratch and ableton. Just wondering what you can acheive with the MIDI IN on the 303?

I would love to be able to link it with Ableton but I doubt this is possible..?

I have MIDI in and MIDI out on my Audio 8 soundcard. Also my Evolution UC-33e has MIDI in and out. Is it possible to link the 303 up to launch clips or samples on my laptop?

Any advice would be appreciated

...simply put; can the SP-303 be used as a MIDI Controller?

The 303 only recieves midi messages so you can't use it as a controller, just a slave.
