Making a recorded track longer...

So I recorded this track already, I don't have the samples or drums anywhere anymore, but I need to make a track a bit longer(as in adding a few bars of the same loop). Is there a clean way to do this, maybe with a computer?

could you not jus record the exta loop into your sp or jus use audacity to cut and paste?? audacity will be the easiest if you allready recorded it out etc.

I'm probably going for the audacity method...
But isn't there a more accurate way?

There isn't anything else to do besides loop it up yourself in audacity, cool edit, acid pro, etc.

just copy the loop you want to extent, and paste it in

hey computers, i do this all the time man, i usually use cubase and splice both part together. like if i download an instrumental and me and my buddies wanna rap to it. if its like 1 min long id just grab a good loop cause sometimes it would fade out on the end. then id put the 2 waves together then do a little crossfading and zoom in really close. its pretty simple. if you want, i could totally do it, no problem, let me know.

yeah i use cubase as well, just figure out how i want to organize it based off of what i already have, then i cut right at the beginning of things by looking at the wav form, then i zoom in crazy and match zero points and get precise with it, if you can zoom for enough you can really make it sound flawless, don't know what free programs out there allow you such precision though cause i've always used cubase

That's the simplest and quickest way, if you've got the programs. Provided the part you need to loop has no quirks it should be really simple. If there's some sound decay from the noises surrounding the section you've snipped, there are some tricks to clean it up--or really to smear it a little--and make it sound seamless. Let us know how it goes.
