I HAVE A PROBLEM OF LATENCY

hi every body
i just start having a problem of latency. just today an hour ago.
every worked just fine but when i press anybutton on the transport bar in acidpro6 it takes let say half a second to a second.

i never had that before. i tried to lower the buffer and rase him but nothin.
i use the 606 as the soundcard. and i noticed that i have some scrach too.

please i don't know what to do next. i tried many things and i am about to defrag the comp.

please can somebody help me!!!!!

salut tintin,

i don't know if i understand the problem or not, but is it possible the latency is between your midi device and computer? if so, you could try messing around with the midi parameters (such as aftertouch, etc).

or, if the prob is just btwn the computer and output, check if you've put any effects into your fx bus that would cause a delay (i sometimes find loading up the effects-chain, or even using big reverb in real-time causes delays btwn trigger and output of sound)

also, computers are weird things...sometimes just re-booting can fix a prob like this.

i tried to reboot so many times
i checked the fx chain i have nothing on it but the problem is when i press the play button it doesn't start right away like it used to do
it takes like a second.
i really don't know what is the problem.....

I'm away at the moment. I'll look into it when I return home. In the meantime, have you tried...

Checking any recently installed plugins? They can cause problems occasionally.

Reinstalling acid6? This can solve the problem too..

I've been investigating this and can't seem to get the latency problem to occur (not like you describe anyway - there's latency, but not much)...

Could you post details as to how you have hooked everything up and the procedure you followed to get acid and the 606 talking? There's more than one way to do it I'm sure, so there may be more than one solution too..

sorry to be that late but my exams are killing me :twisted:

so the latecy thing occur only some times and it's really short but enough to mess things up. other than that it doesn't happend all the time. so i guess when it's happend i try to restart the project and export the track that i did.

I would remove it from the hard drive and reinstall it, this should reset any problems you have 'caused by irregular settings, other than that your computer might not have enough processing power or ram. Another thing to ask yourself is if you're using a pirated copy of Acid Pro which could have compromised the normal internal program parameters. I use acid pro to program drums with no midi sync and I notice a little latency but my timing is still on in the final product. Midi sync'd controllers should have a latency of like .08ms your audio drivers might suck too so I'd download and install ASIO4ALL and your problem should be fixed if it's not a lack of cpu processing power and ram. All these things will have a big bearing on midi latency.

yes i i think that could be a problem of ram. i have 1.2 gig now and after xmas i wish i could go over 2gig.

i will just see what i have in my gifts

la solution quand ça arrive, et c'est très rare, je reprends le projet tout simplement. mais je pense que je dois monter ma mémoire vive.
ça pourrait être ça le problème
